ABOUT US - VISION & PURPOSE

Picture
Being a Connected School, means being a school where all stakeholders, and in particular pupils, are empowered through technology, and encouraged to participate more actively than ever in their learning experience. The goal of a connected school is to foster individuals that will be positive element of the society they live in.

This will be achieved by:

  • Creating a learning environment where the ratio of learners per teacher is between 16:1 and 32:1 depending on the local culture and 1:1 per connected device
  • Putting an extremely strong emphasis on literacy, numeracy and personal development in primary school
  • Ensuring that the connection between a teacher and his/her learners stay extremely strong in secondary school thanks to a 30% contact time between a pupil and his or her Home-Teacher

This will be affordable by:

  • After Primary School, hiring specialist teachers for English, Math, Science, Humanities and World Languages (English  baccalaureate subjects in the UK) until the end of KS3
  • Investing in Open Source and Low Cost Technologies, in addition to renewable energies and a focus on responsible resource management

This will be manageable by:

  • Supporting teachers with a cross-disciplinary and coherent curriculum, coupled with high quality on and offline resources in primary school, and in their specialist subject as well as the other subjects they will be expected to facilitate in secondary school.
  • Giving access to a Social Learning Platform that will make learning a journey for the learners, where the teachers will be their guide, the other learners their partners, and their parents their first supporters.

In a sense, Connected Schools are meant to become the "World Local Schools" in an increasingly connected world. A model to follow to make the highest quality of Education affordable and therefore accessible in most parts of the world (Emerging and Developed Markets). In the other parts of the world, the very nature of Connected School will enable them to share their resources (content, software & infrastructure) thanks to their local and extended cloud infrastructure and social learning platform.
