ORGANISATION OF LEARNERS

Picture
The pupils are organised in Home-groups. Their home teacher is the link between school and home.

So a Connected School is organised in houses, which will be made of one home-group from each year to re-enforce a sense of belonging and ensure that even at a pastoral level, stage and not age is what matters most.

Pupils from Preparatory school will be asked to support pupils during the last 2 years of primary within their houses.

This will be facilitated by the fact that all classes from primary to Secondary are expected to have learners that will NOT BE SET. As best as possible, the aim is to distribute evenly the number of G&T learners, learners with SEN and disabilities, from deprived background, who are learning English as an Additional Language, who are in care and with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Indeed, the extra support and the school ethos are all about the promotion of tolerance between the students regardless of their aptitudes or their social and cultural background.

There are 5 classes per year group and as many adults in the class whose role moves from teacher in primary spending all their time with the same group, to facilitator in Secondary liaising with the partner schools and the other subject teachers, to guarantee the highest level of success in the GCSEs the learners will get through the English Baccalaureate and the Specialist Diploma.

In Prep-School, the home teachers teach their home-class at least one morning per week and spend at least a third of their time with that same group.

Learners take part of Further Sport and Community in Action as compulsory enrichment activity. They will then be able to signed up for further activities organised by teacher (e.g. Further Drama) or partners (e.g. Music)
