LEARNER DEVELOPMENT AND ACHIEVEMENT - DEFINITION OF SUCCESS
In Primary, success as a whole school means that 100% of learners get strong National Curriculum level 4 and above in their KS2 tests, which could be as early as the end of Year 5 or even Year 4. As this would be a requirement for their passage to Preparatory School, failing to get National Curriculum level 4 means that they would need to take summer school classes, or even stay in primary school for another year depending on their test results and a meeting between the school principal, the parents and their home-teacher.
As individuals, learners will have developed a knack for learning, as well as a creative and inquisitive mind with a deep knowledge and a high sense of respect towards others and their surroundings. |
In Preparatory, success as a whole school will mean that 100% of learners would feel confident in all 5 categories of competencies. They will also be equipped with sufficient knowledge to move on to Secondary School, which means reaching level 5 or above.
As individuals, learners will have developed a level of confidence, independence and self-motivation that will drive them to success in Secondary School. |
In Secondary, it will mean that 100% of learners will get their English Baccalaureate. All of them will be successful in the Diploma they will choose.
As individual, the learners will look forward to the challenges offered by their chosen International Baccalaureate, A Levels or Apprenticeships. |
NB: 100% of learners exclude learners with severe special educational needs. Although everything will be done to enable those learners to work at the same level as their peers all the way through, their success will depends on the gravity of their educational needs.
